In the middle of a cold-snap

Sometimes it's difficult to tell if Mother Nature is beckoning me to explore around that next mysterious corner or telling me to stay away. The bottom line is there is no else I'd rather be than right there at the precipice of that question.

This past weekend I spent the better part of a few days with my good friend Carl, wrestling with this very question in -15 below temperatures.

Here's to feeling alive!

Still blows my mind how many Californian's have NO clue about the Eastern Sierras; I go there often and California folks ask me what state I was in.

I've climbed and backpacked in this area more times than I can keep track of, and this trip, by far, was the most magical and mysterious. I felt lucky to have whiteness such incredible beauty and power.
