Personalized sessions for photographers ready to grow - in craft, career, and clarity.

Mentoring & Coaching

You've got the eye. Let’s sharpen the vision.

After 20+ years as a working photojournalist and travel photographer - from conflict zones to remote Baja beaches - I now spend part of my time teaching photography at the high school level as a Career & Technical Educator in California. It’s reminded me just how powerful honest, practical, real-world feedback can be.

This mentorship offering is for photographers currently with a body of work they're proud of, who want to take the next step - whether that’s refining a portfolio, pitching an editor, or figuring out how to shoot meaningfully while on the move.

As a professional, I’ve rarely seen this kind of access made available. Mentorships were something you had to stumble into; often hard-earned, and typically reserved for those who fit a certain mold or knew the right people. I want to break that. If you’re ready, and your work is honest and hungry, I’ll meet you there.

1:1 Coaching Session (60 min)

A one-hour Zoom session tailored to your specific goals. Whether you’re looking for a portfolio review, career direction, technical guidance, or help refining your voice as a photographer, this session is designed to meet you where you are. Afterward, you’ll receive a brief follow-up summary with key takeaways, recommended next steps, and any resources discussed.

A deeper dive for photographers ready to grow their craft and career with support over time. This includes three one-hour Zoom sessions spaced out over 6 to 8 weeks, giving us room to reflect, refine, and build momentum. We’ll tailor each session to your evolving goals; from shaping a portfolio to navigating the industry, refining your visual voice, or exploring real-world travel workflows. Includes light email support between sessions and a final recap with personalized guidance.

Portfolio Review

A focused, one-time review designed for photographers who want quick, actionable feedback. You’ll complete a short intake form and submit a curated portfolio (or a specific body of work). I’ll review it in depth and record a personalized video critique with clear, honest insights - what’s working, what’s not, and how to push it further. Ideal if you’re prepping for a pitch, an application, or just want a professional set of eyes on your work.

A note before you go

I don’t take it lightly when someone asks for feedback or mentorship — it takes guts to put your work out there.
